The Bay Line trackage removal.
Originally Atlantic Coast Line branch line from Grimes to Abbeville, AL 26 miles, ended a mile from this spot looking north. It had been passed down thru the mergers from SCL to CSX before being sold to the Bay Line RR. The Bay Line has recently lifted the rails of the unused portion of this line from AL highway 27 crossing in Abbeville north to Abbeville, AL proper. US 431 overpass in the distance.

David Barrentine General There used to be a wye at the end of the trackage. Always hate to see rails being pulled up. 10/31/2011 12:29:43 PM
